What you’ll learn
Demonstrated ability to skipper a sloop-rigged keelboat of approximately 20 to 27 feet in length by day in light to moderate winds and sea conditions.
- Basic sailing terminology and arts of the boat
- Helm commands
- Basic sail trim
- Points of sail
- Man overboard drills
- Basic Knots
- Basic Navigation & rules of the road
- Docking/anchoring and safety including basic navigation rules to avoid collisions and hazards
There are no prerequisites for this course. Just a desire to start living your dream!
No more than four students per class
Private courses are also available upon request
Sailing is an activity that requires both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. A mix of classroom theory and on-board hands-on sailing is a fun and safe way to learn the basics of sailing!
