Designed for beginners, the ASA 101 Basic Keelboat Sailing course offers a comprehensive introduction to sailing. You’ll gain the skills and knowledge needed to confidently operate a keelboat.

What you’ll learn

Learn to skipper a 20′ – 27′ feet sloop-rigged keelboat by day, in light to moderate winds (up to 15 knots) and sea conditions.

Ashore Knowledge

Basic sailing terminology
Boat parts and functions
Maneuvers and points of sail
Safety and seamanship
Navigation rules
Aids to navigation

Afloat Skills

Depart dock or mooring safely
Rig, hoist and set sails
Helm commands
Handling emergencies: man overboard
Return to dock and secure vessel
Construct basics knots and hitches

At Hold Fast Sailing School, we offer a fresh approach to sailing education. We combine engaging theoretical sessions with practical hands-on experience. Refine your navigation skills aboard our top-notch sailing equipment on the open sea.
